Lancaster County PA Drug & Alcohol Commission (LCDAC) has been serving the community for more than 45 years and is responsible for the oversight of the substance use disorder services within Lancaster County. LCDAC contracts out all direct services to providers throughout Lancaster County. LCDAC provides funds to ensure that underinsured and non-insured individuals can receive drug & alcohol treatment services. LCDAC also provides funds for evidence-based prevention services in school, community, and home-based settings. LCDAC and its contracted service providers shall give the identified Priority Populations preference to treatment as follows and, in the following order: Pregnant women who inject drugs; Pregnant women who use substances; Persons who inject drugs (PWID); Overdose survivors; Veterans.

A partnership between organizations, coalitions, and individuals, Joining Forces serves as a convener and connector. With Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health’s support as the backbone organization, the Joining Forces collaborative regularly reviews data. This data helps key leaders in the community understand who is at increased risk of overdose and what interventions are needed to prevent those deaths.
The Lancaster County Recovery Alliance
The Lancaster County Recovery Alliance (LCRA) is a grassroots coalition founded in May 2015 whose original purpose was to explore and develop solutions to issues resulting from addiction, as well as to coordinate our county’s Recovery Day Lancaster celebration each fall. LCRA attracts people passionate about working to promote the role that recovery plays in Lancaster County. Treating individuals and families impacted by addiction with the same care and support as those with other illnesses creates communities where everyone can thrive.
