Berks County PA Easy Does It Addiction Recovery
Berks County PA Easy Does It, Inc. (EDI) was founded in 1989 by a small group of members of the 12-step recovery community in Berks County, PA. Their vision was to create a safe place where people could reclaim their lives from the bondage of addiction and learn how to have fun in recovery. To accomplish their goal, they purchased the Longlots Bar in downtown Reading, which became the Walnut Street Recovery Center. Our name “Easy Does It, Inc.” was adopted from a slogan used in Alcoholics Anonymous to describe a gradual, yet steady path of recovery. In 2001, EDI opened its second, flagship recovery center in Bern Township, located at 1300 Hilltop Rd., Leesport, PA 19533. EDI’s Leesport facility (also known as the Hilltop location) quickly became Berks County’s premier recovery house for 20 recovering individuals and a recovery center to host larger drug and alcohol-free events for the entire community.
